About the B.T.C.I.

The M.C.C.A. holds a conference every three years to which each District Conference and the B.T.C.I. Conference send representatives. That Triennial Conference on behalf of the member District Conference or Conferences, inter alia,

a) handles relations with external/international bodies particularly
the British Church
b) appoints Committees for the management and exercise of its business, duties, and the various Connexional institutions especially when it is in recess
c) delegates annual oversight to its General Purposes Committee which must
meet annually
d) defines and fixes standards of recruitment, candidature, training and preparation for ministers and deacons throughout the Connexion, and appoints them
e) regulates all matters relating to Faith and Order
f) defines and fixes the conditions, privileges and duties of church membership
g) liaises with District Conferences and Conferences concerning the division, combination or rearrangements of a District Conference or Conference
h) appoints representatives to the District Conferences or Conferences
i) determine all matters relating to the superannuation of ministers
j) is the final authority within the Connexional Conference on all questions concerning the interpretation of the Doctrinal Standards

The B.T.C.I. Conference is vested with the management and administration of its affairs except in those matters which are reserved to the M.C.C.A. Its organizational structure consists of:

An Annual Meeting which appoints a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, that Annual Meeting appoints members of:

i) the General Purposes Committee which conducts the business of the Conference when the Annual Meeting is not in session
(ii) the Resources and Development Committee which oversees the church's finances, investments and funding authorities
(iii) the Mission, Evangelism and Church Growth Committee
(iv) the Christian Education Committee
(v) the General Education Committee

All Committees report to the Annual Meeting. The Annual Meeting and the Committee meetings and functions follow set guidelines, standing orders, rules and regulations, as are set forth in the Constitution of the M.C.C.A. and of the B.T.C.I. Conference.

There are some sixteen church congregations under the B.T.C.I. Conference umbrella spanning throughout the Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
