The Professional Counselling Center
The Professional Counselling Center is a health, healing and wholeness ancillary of the Nassau Circuit of the B.T.C.I. Methodist Conference (M.C.C.A.). Its purpose is to bolster the existing ministry of our church in a holistic approach to effective ministry.
Under the direction of Dr. James J. Timothy PhD. (Leeds), Counsellor/Therapist, Coordinator, Professional Counselling services are rendered in the following and other areas:
Individual and Group Counselling/Therapy
Conflict Resolution and Meditation
Marital and Premarital Counselling
Spiritual and Religious Counselling
Stress and Depression Reduction Therapy
Anger Control
Emotionally and Psychologically Disturbed Therapy
Crisis Management/Intervention/Crisis Counselling
Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome Intervention
Substance Abuse-Alcohol, Drugs, etc.
This approach to ministry is patterned upon that of the Lord Jesus Christ. His ministry was not only one which endeavored to care for persons holistically, but also, when He sent His disciples out it was to perform the dual ministry of preaching and healing (see Matthew 10:7-9 and Luke 9:2) implying that they were mandated to serve the whole person as well.
The Gospels which provide us with the clearest available indication of the ministry of Jesus as He fulfilled the Will of God to save the world, leave us with ample evidence suggesting that the most of the people whom He was saving were sick, hurting, anxious, demoralized, destitute, depressed, and handicapped in these and many other ways. Consequently, the salvation which He offered was to make them whole again.
At the Professional Counselling Center, we pray, dialogue, share hurt and receive hope and help, thereby permitting the opportunity for individuals to take adequate control of their lives and particular situations. As a consequence, they are empowered to make responsible choices in resolving these as evidence of becoming whole again to the glory of God.

The center is located at:
